Back on May 13th I put out a poll asking if anyone thought I could return 17.7% in 6 ½ months to finish up 10% with the Monster Portfolio? I had some slight interest in the poll, but I would welcome others to reply if you haven’t already. Your feedback is appreciated! This in turn has sparked interest back into the portfolio. I had someone vote no in this poll. I would like to Thank that person for putting doubt into my abilities to turn this Monster Portfolio around! Everyone that knows me will tell you that I’m always up for a challenge. I love to win and I never like to lose.

Insider Buying In Weatherford International

Looks like Weatherford International (WFT) had a little insider transaction last week. CEO Bernard Duroc-Danner purchased 10,000 shares of WFT at $19.18.  That's a stock purchase worth $191,800.  Typically when insiders buy this is a good thing.  Remember they want to make money to.  I like to browse my stocks every few weeks for insider action.  It's a good indicator for future strength in a stocks price. Not always, but typically you can put your faith in large purchases.

My take-its a good time to start accumulating some WFT.  This stock has been knocked down and beaten beyond belief over the past 3 months and is currently out of favor.  This is a perfect opportunity to make money!  Can you say turn around company? I'm a proud owner of WFT and I suggest you do the same.

-Westport Innovations (WPRT)  up 13.5% over the past few days!  Not a bad run.  If the volume continues to be strong I can see it moving higher.  Its a run up right before they report earnings next week.  My finger will be close to the trigger.  Selling into strength is how you make money.

I’m not going to say much about the overall portfolio. Not much to say except I have a lot of work to do. I did however pick up some Westport Innovations (WPRT) last week and I repositioned my portfolio to take advantage of this growth company. I have a great deal of confidence in WPRT! Everything about Westport excites me and that is why I had to get a piece of the action. I diversified my holdings among 4 companies because I believe in each and every one of my investments. I would hate to miss a big upswing at the the current moment. So I’m holding strong and I’m ready for a big move!

Buy List for Friday 05/20/11

Buy List

Caterpillar-(CAT) about 10% off its 52 week high.  Commodity prices are down, which will revitalize the world economies and allow companies like CAT to make more $$$.

Westport Innovations-(WPRT)  Chart looks good!  I believe the negative momentum of this stock has reversed and is poised for a big move to the upside.  Plus WPRT is set to report earnings on June 1 and the stock price should move higher nearing that date.

Money will be made with these 2.  I personally own WPRT and follow CAT closely.  My opinion is to accumulate while the getting is good.  Stocks are on a sale!

P.S.  Sodastream (SODA) Amazing!  If I had more money I would buy them all! LOL!

It appears the sell in May and stay away is occurring at the moment. All I can do is laugh! Every time I make a bold statement my stock holdings turn against me. It makes it even more of a challenge to come back from being down so big! This is the time I do my best work. Money is to be had and it’s time to go. I don’t care if it’s May or not I will make money. I may have to dump all my money in a penny stock but at least I will have tried to make a comeback. High risk maneuvers are in order! I’m eying a couple of fast movers right now. Westport Innovations (WPRT) is ripe for the picking, Amerigon (ARGN) I have never talked about this one, but it’s a good money maker. They make climate control seats in cars (hot and cold) as well as hot and cold cup holders. They recently have been on a terror! Also, I may take a look at Sandridge Energy (SD) and possibly Sodastream (SODA). I have them on my radar. Until then hold your breath as some buying and selling will occur very soon if my stocks don’t start moving!

Since Inception: -6.75% (And the beat goes on!)

Well Oil took a hit and so did my portfolio last week. WFT lost me a little over $50.00 which is about a 3% hit to the downside. On a positive note gas prices are below $4.00 a gallon. From my last purchase of gas at $4.23 compared to today’s purchase of $3.97 I’m saving $0.26 a gallon. So I purchase about 10 gallons a fill up and my wife is around 12 gallons. In total that’s 22 gallons, with a savings of $5.72 a week. It’s not much, but it will take about 9 weeks to recoup my losses. In 9 weeks WFT should be well above the $22.50 mark and I will more than make my money back. With lower gas prices oil drilling will continue to be strong as the demand for oil carries on.  With crude above $110.00 a barrel it creates demand destruction, but with $90.00 oil there is plenty of money for oil related stocks to turn some hefty profits!

Well the results are in the 1 year performance of the prediction game I started back on April 29th 2010 are locked in. My stock picks returned a solid 23.37%. I will have all the comparisons over the next few days vs. the market. Stay tuned!

Total $1990.97

Balance: End of Week 15 04/29/11
$2,147.59 Stock
$86.96 Cash
Total $2,234.55

Excluding cash inflow of $290.50 we have a balance of $1,944.05. Up another +1.80% from last week

Since Inception: -2.35% (Almost back to even)

Not a bad run from last week’s results. I did however get crushed today with Weatherford International (WFT) as the fund managers decided to take down the oil service stocks due to the recent downward pressure on oil. To tell you the truth I’m glad oil is trying to go down as I will save more money in gas then I will make with WFT. LOL! Oil prices are at ridiculous levels. On my way home from work today I saw $4.29 a gallon at the Shell station. This has got to stop.

If I have to take a short term hit on WFT I’m okay with that. It will be easier on my wallet! WFT will bounce back in the short term. Now all we need now is for crude to plummet to the 90’s. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

Next week I’ll have Week 17 Results plus the 1 year performance of the stock prediction game. I’m interested to see how I did. With the recent great results from Caterpillar (CAT) I have a feeling the 1 year performance of the prediction game will be solid vs. the indices.

Current Holdings:
Apple (AAPL) my take- buy more!
Cosi Inc. (COSI) my take- sleeper good long term play
Weatherford International (WFT) my take- buy much more! Load up the truck.
